The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia through the Ministry of Finance (MoF) and Ethiopian Investment Holdings (EIH) has announced an extension of the Bid Submission date to 5th October 2023 for the privatization’ of 8 state-owned sugar enterprises.
The original submission date of August 3, 2023, has been extended to October 5, 2023, at 5 pm East African Time (EAT), according to Ministry of Finance.
Similarly, the date for submission of requests for clarifications and conducting site visits has been extended.
All other details and instructions to the Request for Proposals remain unchanged. This decision comes in response to the requests received from potential bidders, expressing their need to have more time to complete their assessments for this opportunity.
This extension will provide bidders with additional time to conduct their detailed due diligence and prepare comprehensive bids that align with the Government of Ethiopia’s vision for the privatization of the sugar estates.
The privatization of the sugar estates marks a pivotal move to ensure more efficient use of national resources by shifting towards a competitive market structure, with a greater role for the private sector in the economy.
